Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Lantern Park (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information we collect

When you subscribe to The Lantern Letter, we collect your email address. When you use our website, standard server logs record your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. If you submit a contact form, we retain your name, email address, and message content. We do not collect payment information directly — any transactions are handled by third-party processors subject to their own privacy policies.

2. How we use your information

Your email address is used solely to send The Lantern Letter newsletter. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes. Server log data is used in aggregate to understand how our site is used and to diagnose technical problems. Contact form data is used to respond to your enquiry and is not retained beyond the resolution of that enquiry.

3. Cookies

Our website uses a single first-party cookie to remember your cookie consent preference (key: lanternpark_cookie). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies. We do not use Google Analytics or similar third-party analytics platforms. If you decline cookies, no persistent cookie is set and no preference is stored beyond your current session.

4. Third-party services

Our newsletter is distributed via a third-party email service provider. By subscribing, your email address is transferred to and stored by that provider, subject to their privacy policy. We will name the current provider on request. We use a content delivery network (CDN) for font delivery (Google Fonts), which may log your IP address per Google’s privacy policy. We evaluate self-hosting fonts periodically.

5. Your rights

You may unsubscribe from The Lantern Letter at any time using the unsubscribe link in any issue. You may request deletion of your email address from our newsletter list by emailing [email protected]. Canadian residents have rights under PIPEDA. EU/UK residents have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, and erase personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address above.

6. Data retention

Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 90 days after resolution. Server logs are retained for up to 12 months for security and diagnostic purposes.

7. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. Access to subscriber data is restricted to authorised team members. We do not store passwords. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.

8. Children

Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will note the updated date above. Material changes will be announced in The Lantern Letter.
