A note before the list: Lantern Park's editorial decisions are not for sale. The services below are ways businesses and organisations can reach our audience — not ways to influence what we cover or how we cover it. If something we've written about is also a sponsor, we say so, clearly, in the article. Our sponsorship disclosure page has the full policy.

Content Partnership

Sponsored Feature

For: local businesses, cultural institutions, community organisations

A written feature about your space, business, or initiative — produced by the Lantern Park editorial team in our voice and style, clearly labelled as sponsored content. We visit in person, we write honestly, and we do not accept advertorial copy or pre-approved scripts.

  • One editorial visit and interview (in-person or video)
  • 750–1,200 word written feature in Lantern Park's editorial voice
  • Placement in the relevant section (Eat & Gather, Spaces & Design, Local Voices, etc.)
  • Inclusion in one issue of The Lantern Letter newsletter
  • Clear "Sponsored" label on the piece and in the newsletter
  • One round of factual review by the partner before publication
Note: We write the piece. Partners may flag factual errors, but editorial tone, framing, and conclusions are ours. We will not publish a sponsored feature for a business we would not be comfortable covering editorially. If we visit and decide the fit isn't right, we'll tell you before publication and discuss options — including a full refund.
Newsletter

Letter Sponsorship

For: local businesses, seasonal promotions, aligned Canadian brands

A brief, clearly labelled sponsorship message in one or more issues of The Lantern Letter, read by approximately 12,000 subscribers. The message appears once per issue, below the editorial content, in a standardised format that matches the letter's visual language without mimicking editorial.

  • One sponsorship message per issue (up to 80 words)
  • Your business name and a single URL
  • Placement below the main editorial content
  • Option to sponsor a themed issue (e.g. summer patios, winter markets)
  • Standard performance report (open rate, click count) after each issue
Note: We accept a maximum of one sponsor per issue. We do not accept gambling, cryptocurrency, payday lending, or brands whose products we consider harmful to community wellbeing. The final decision on fit is ours.
Events

Community Event Listing

For: community organisers, cultural venues, non-commercial neighbourhood events

Paid inclusion of your event in our neighbourhood calendar, with a full event description written or edited to match our style. For genuinely community-oriented events with no commercial primary purpose, we offer free listings — see our contact page for details.

  • Full event listing on the Lantern Park events calendar
  • Brief editorial description (100–150 words) written or refined by our team
  • Inclusion in one relevant newsletter issue
  • Social-ready description you can use in your own communications
Note: We list events that are genuinely community-oriented, accessible, and relevant to neighbourhood life. Commercial product launches and brand activations are not eligible for the events calendar regardless of payment. If you're unsure whether your event qualifies, ask.
Discovery

Place Listing

For: independently owned cafés, restaurants, shops, gathering spaces, and community-oriented venues

A permanent listing in the relevant Lantern Park section (Eat & Gather, Spaces & Design, etc.), with a description, practical details, and a link to your site. Unlike a sponsored feature, a place listing is a practical directory entry rather than an editorial story.

  • Listing in the relevant section with name, description, address, and hours
  • Up to three photographs (provided by partner, reviewed by our team)
  • One-time inclusion in The Lantern Letter as a "new to the guide" entry
  • Annual review and update of listing details
Note: We only list places we would recommend to a friend. We visit before listing. If we visit and the fit isn't right, we will decline and refund the listing fee. National chains and franchises are not eligible.
Editorial

Neighbourhood Content Production

For: community organisations, municipal bodies, BIAs, housing co-operatives, and similar non-commercial entities

Editorial content — articles, neighbourhood guides, walk routes — produced by the Lantern Park team for use on a partner's own platforms. This is a content production service, not a placement service: the content appears on the partner's channels, not on Lantern Park. We bring our editorial standards, neighbourhood knowledge, and writing quality to your communications.

  • Project scoping consultation (one hour)
  • Agreed word count and deliverable format
  • Content produced by the Lantern Park editorial team
  • Up to two rounds of revision
  • Delivery in agreed format (HTML, Word, PDF)
Note: Content produced under this service does not carry the Lantern Park name or appear on lanternpark.ca unless separately agreed. We do not produce content for political purposes, advocacy campaigns, or anything that conflicts with our editorial values. Scope is project-by-project; we will provide a clear quote and timeline before any work begins.
Walks

Guided Walk Partnership

For: cultural institutions, heritage organisations, BIAs, urban planning departments

A Lantern Park-branded guided walk created in partnership with your organisation — designed around your neighbourhood, building, district, or theme, and led by a member of our editorial team or an approved local guide. Suitable for public programming, staff events, and community outreach.

  • Walk design consultation and route reconnaissance
  • Written walk guide with named stops and contextual notes
  • One in-person guided walk (up to 20 participants)
  • Digital version of the walk guide for participants
  • Option to list the route on Lantern Park's walk section
Note: Walk partnerships are limited to two per season. We do not design walks for commercial promotional purposes (e.g. a walk centred on visiting a chain of stores). The route, stops, and narrative are shaped by the neighbourhood, not the partner's marketing goals.
